Again in 2002, Oregon’s Fall River was unintentionally broken by a drop of fireside retardant. The chemical spill killed all of the trout inside a four-mile stretch of water, some 22,000 rainbows.
Fortunately, that retardant cleared comparatively rapidly, in response to Scott Linden over at Recreation and Fish Journal, however that’s when the actual work started of restoring the river.
